we were tasked to revitalize underutilized space behind Kunsthalle Darmstadt, where we saw it has potential as a vibrant hub for the neighborhood. inspired by the hot sunny days here, we believe it would be nice if there is a space where we can rest but also shielded from the bright sun. 
drawing inspiration from the round chairs in front of the Kunsthalle, we designed an opening roof that allows natural light to fall through and provide growth to the plants. we also introduced glass divider to offer a versatile space suitable for hosting small events or exhibitions. the open-air design compliments the neighboring museum and injects the space with its own character, inviting locals and communities to engage with art, nature, and diversity in a dynamic setting.
